Flint, MI is hungry for a place like this…and she already has it.
The Flint Farmers’ Market, a WPA-built part of Flint’s landscape since 1940, is community in action. Local food, local business, local people coming together to nourish the Flint community. This project wants to tell a good story about Flint – something that’s nourishing about Flint, MI – in order to counter-act the negative stories the media tells, as well as those we may unknowingly hold in our hearts.
The market is a place where we know our neighbors and the growers of our food by name. This market is Flint’s town square, a place where we safely come together for good food, good talk, and good people. Even though we may collide, we see each other…we remember when…we taste something good about our future.
